Get involved

Pledging to move your money is the first step towards building a better, fairer and safer banking sector. The more of us that move our money, the greater the positive impact we can have.

Let your friends, family and colleagues know it’s time to take action - check out our template emails, flyers and posters.

If you'd like to get involved further, or organise your own event - a demo, a talk, a film screening, a MYM party, please get in touch and let us know! We'd love to help out.

Events

(no upcoming events)

It's more powerful to act as a part of a group, so get your friends round, get talking and start switching -

  • MYM Film Screening

There are plenty of films looking at the banking system and how it's failed. Hosting a film screening - be it in your living room or the town hall – is a great way to get discussion going about the banking system, how we need to change it and how we can! Have you seen Inside Job, for example?.

  • MYM Party

Invite your friends round for a MYM party! Chat through the options and get everyone to pick a switch date and make a pledge. Use your imagination – money themed snacks and decor anyone?

  • MYM Theme

If you already get together as a group – a book club or discussion group – why not make it banking themed meet for MYM month?

  • MYM Events

Maybe you want to think bigger – a switching event at your local 'better bank', a discussion evening with a panel of experts. We can help with this.

There are plenty of opportunities to attract attention to this issue. Having some exciting on-street action and pictures in the press will help spread the Move Your Money message even further.

  • A 'Better Bailout'

If you want to move your money from a bank, why not find a group of others who want to too. You can go to your local branch together and, while you're there, explain to members of the public why you're moving your money.

There are lots of exciting visuals to work with (have you seen some of their taglines!?)– so got for it!

How to organise a stunt

  • Pick your date, time, place, and add to our calendar.

  • Spread the word – Facebook, Twitter, approaching local groups (campaign groups, unions, students, political groups).

  • Contact the local media with media. Do get in touch for help, or there's a good, (very thorough!) guide here.

  • Go for it!

Who else do you think should be moving their money? Let them know what you think about the issue.

Whether it's shocking stats about the financial system or inspiring information about the alternatives - funny or factual, serious or silly - we want your 'Move Your Money' 1 minute Movies!
