FireKeepers Casino Hotel, owned by the Nottawaseppi Huron Band of the Potawatomi, celebrates the progress of its expansion, including the construction of a new hotel tower and the launching of its latest Sportsbook in Michigan. Online sports betting and casinos will soon gain legal permission to operate in the state.

Michigan is one of the states eyeing to legalize online gambling. Lawmakers in the country are now proposing new legislation to allow operations of online gambling platforms in the state. The Michigan Gaming Control Board announced the government’s plan to start allowing online gaming and mobile sports betting in October.

The regulating body’s timeline is pushed to an earlier date, as lawmakers saw the need for new revenue sources to help in the recovery from the economic breakdown brought by the coronavirus pandemic. Casino operators in the state are now racing to expand their influence through new developments and innovations.

FireKeeper’s new towering hotel

The casino owners celebrated the construction of its latest hotel tower through a traditional Indian ceremony. JCJ Architecture designed the new hotel, and Clark Construction Company of Lansing managed its development. The two companies secured the quality of the hotel, as it maintains its AAA Four Diamond award.

The new eight-storey hotel has 203 rooms, with fourteen suites. It will feature a beautifully designed lobby area equipped with the latest hotel accommodation technology. The hotel and casino brag its new Nibi signature restaurant. The company wanted to upgrade gaming experience with a full slot and table games area that features additional VIP slots and lounge.

The company aimed at providing clients with the finest experience, its Nibi restaurant assures quality services. The newly developed dine-in area offers a private dining area for guests. The hotel was built in a 39,000 square foot area.

Dacey’s Sportsbook

FireKeepers Casino Hotel launched the first tribal sportsbook in Michigan. The new sportsbook will give a chance to casino guests to place their wages in major sporting events in the world. The resort’s Vice President of Marketing and Sports/Online Gaming said they installed several big screens for guests to watch games follow their bets in Dacey’s Sportsbook & Taphouse.

The casino installed live betting stations and self-service wagering kiosks for the gamblers. The company signed deals with SG Digital in maintaining the sports betting events in the casino. Kathy George, CEO of FireKeepers, said the company would announce new games every week to entertain everyone.

Sportsbetting in the state was legalized in December 2019 and, since then, operators started launching their platforms. The state has a broad online gaming market, which gives online gaming the chance to prosper.

Ms George said online sports betting bring more patrons to gambling establishments. The CEO noted the benefits the industry brings to the state. She said sports betting contributes largely to the revenue of the state, and they are always focused on becoming the leader in the community. The launch of the new sportsbook is expected to help the company recover from the losses they accumulated during the lockdowns.
