Massachusetts reported 111,597 cases of novel coronavirus, with 8,325 deaths as of July 13, 2020, at 2:17 a.m.  Globally, it has infected more than 13 million individuals and killed nearly 600,000 lives. The virus continues spreading at a fast rate despite global efforts of control and prevention.

The threat of the deadly virus to human life never stopped governments to resume economic activities. The prolonged lockdown stole massive amounts of revenue from economies all around the world.  State leaders decided to gradually allow businesses to operate despite the threat of the deadly virus.

Casinos are among the businesses allowed to welcome back clients—casinos in the US shut down for nearly four months, following a mandate from the government. In late May, States started loosening restrictions, allowing companies to begin their recovery plans.

Encore Harbor resumes business July 12

Encore Boston Harbor welcomed back patrons on Sunday, July 12, after almost four months of shut down.

The casino gained the signal to operate after Massachusetts reached the third phase of its reopening plan. The casinos needed to follow the health and safety guidelines from the Massachusetts Gaming Commission.

Everett Mayor Carlo DeMaria welcomed the casino’s reopening, acknowledging the casino’s contribution as a job provider in the city. The casino promised to provide a healthy and safe environment for its hundredths of employees.

The Mayor encouraged everyone to enjoy their stay at Encore, as they follow the mandated coronavirus safety protocols. The official also hoped that guests would explore the shops and restaurants in the city.

Coronavirus measures adopted

The management restructured the 210,000 square-foot casino floor to ensure social distancing is exercised.

The casino limited the number of slot machines to place space between the gamblers.  Plexiglas protects the Gamblers and dealers during table games.

The casino management provided face masks for all the employees and guests. Hand sanitizing stations were installed all around the resort.

Guests and employees needed to pass temperature screening before entry to the casino, and those with symptoms are sent home or advised to go to a medical facility.

Brian Gullbrandts, Encore’s president, said entry to the casino would be based on occupancy.  He assured that they want to make everyone safe.

Guests can now enjoy the resorts high limit table games and slot machines, video poker, electronic table games, and the usual table games and slot machines.

The resort followed the state’s coronavirus travel history for visitors to make their policies. Visitors of the state needed to undergo a 14-day quarantine, except for those from Connecticut, Maine, New Hampshire, New Jersey, New York, Rhode Island, and Vermont.

People with travel history in Europe, Brazil, China, Iran, the United Kingdom, and Ireland within the last 14 days are restricted from entry to the state. The resort assured to impose the guidelines from the state strictly.

Other casinos in the state have started their reopening, MGM Springfield resumed on Monday while Plainridge Park Casino welcomed patrons back last week.  The casinos followed the same guidelines from the regulators.
